If your reading this then you probably are a fan of clouds, hiking, or anything that has to do with outdoors. Many cloud watchers don’t realize that the clouds they look at in the sky are determined by the water on earth and how much of an impact clean water can have.

Purity of the water can determine the formation of a cloud. If clean water is evaporated then clouds will be light, fluffy, and ideal for cloud watching. Clouds made up of polluted water form dreary clouds that blanket the sky. These clouds have also been known to produce acid rain. This rain is extremely acidic and can devastate a forest and lakes.

While climate change is a statistically proven fact, the role of clouds is still up for debate. Scientist disagree on the rate at which the earth is warming. The increase cloud coverage traps heat and reflects it back onto the planet.

I’ve experienced water pollution first hand while living in Oklahoma. I’ve spent most of my time on the Deep Fork Riverand North Canadian River. Luckily these two rivers do not experience heavy traffic and are relatively clean even though they may appear dirty because of the clay soil at the bottom of the bank.

This isn’t the case for many of the lakes and rivers across America. The Mississippi River and Pacific Ocean rank as some of the most polluted bodies of water in the U.S.. A large contributor of this pollution is that these areas are large hubs for ships.

The fight against global warming is becoming increasingly challenging every day. There are many things that contribute to global warming, water pollution being one of the contributing factors. Since the world is covered 71% of I feel like this should be more of a concern.

I hope people will consider environmental protection the next time the look up at the sky. Clean water means clean clouds. If you’re a fan of watching clouds shift shapes and take on every changing forms then please properly dispose of waste and remember to recycle!

Currently there are many clean water organizations. These organizations primary focus is to deliver clean drinking water to those in need.
